The microworld
We have a ” did you know” rubric about Tardigrades (water-bears):

I liked biologist Joe Hanson’s humour which inspired me to write this article and quote him:
“Eat Your Tardigrades or You Don’t Get Dessert!”
You’ve probably eaten them. It looks such as these creatures (0.5 mm long) “live not only on wild mosses and wet plants, but on grocery store produce like lettuce and spinach.” Do you think that a rinse or shake under the water (or even cooking) is enough to dislodge a “radiation-eating” creature? It might be.
Don’t worry if you’ve eaten them, though. It seems they’re harmless. They don’t resist the stomach acid.
You can imagine that ” when you eat them, you absorb their power, and become a little bit mightier.”
So….. “For strength, eat your vegetables and eat your tardigrades!”
Just food for thought or..for dreaming:
Perhaps in order for people to colonize other planets , it will be useful to dig into the study of this kind of creatures which are able to convert radiation into food!!
What do you think about it? Interesting enough? if yes, write about other microorganisms – relatives of tardigrades or not – and explain shortly the Physics involved here.
Please, don’t stop eating vegetables! Just wash them well!
The first number of our magazine will be printed soon
Click to see The first number of students’ magazine (PDF format — EASY TO READ)
Click on the links in the PDF, in order to watch 2 wonderful videos about the human microbiome = totality of the microorganisms that live inside/on us ( according to the last research and scientific discoveries) – or you can visit Ania’a website, etc.
If you want to learn more about the creatures that live inside you, you can watch this video as well. ( It reminds us about a ” Big Question” posted on this blog last year ” What it means to be Human”…here, there is just another way to look at this profound question/answer)
Please, write your comments and suggestions to help us create the best magazine.
or you ca see the magazine as a flip book:
or see it here if you want ( a different way to see it) and let us know which visual way works better for you.
We are happy to get – from you – some ideas of new projects to initiate this year ( although the ones we started last year are still doable )
We hope our next publications will be at least double in size. This month was short and full of events .
I encourage the students who feel attraction to the Journalism and computer work to join us in order to make this magazine more interesting.
Let’s have some fun together!
Docuart Fest

Journalism Experience in School
Impresii din pozitia unui licean
Dragii mei,
Liceenii
Welcome back!
A new beginning, a new academic year (2016-2017)!
Our school grew steadily each year and a lot more is happening every month.
Some things changed/improved, many teachers are new to meet the needs of our students; the same applies to the auxiliary staff.
We wish all students a wonderful school year and …Happy learning!
