How do mobile phones work?

A cell phone, aka mobile phone, uses a radio wave to transmit and receive information. This is usually a low power radio wave that transmits through the air. When you speak into the phone, your voice gets converted into an electric signal. That electrical signal is sometimes converted to a digital signal, sometimes its not depending on the phone. The signal is modulated to on a radio wave that is transmitted out in space.A cell tower picks up your radio wave and sends it through the communication infrastructure to the number you called. Your phone number and everyones phone number is like an address.
